The six times balon d'or winner has reportedly be linked with a move away from the Camp Nou after their disastrous season. The club ended the season without any silverware. The situation worsened after their heavy lost to Bayern Munich in the Champions league quarter finals last week. The club appears to be in a difficult situation and the hierarchy and fans have also called for a massive overhaul in the team and the administrative area.
The club's sporting director Eric Abidal was the first to be dismissed and the head coach Quique Setien is expected to follow soon. The club has also made it clear they would listen to offers for several first team players including Luis suarez, Antonie Greizman and Gerrard Pique. However, Messi, Ter stegen, Frenkie De Jong, Ansu Fati and few others have been excluded from the want-away list.
Reports yesterday suggested Lionel Messi wants to leave the club. The news came as a shock to fans because the 33 year old has been the team's livewire since the departure of Ronaldinho in 2008. He has spent about 3 decades with club and contributed massively to Barcelona success over these decades.
However his wife's post on her page debunks the rumours. Check out the screen shot below.
The post came as a massive relief to fans as she maintains close contact with the Barcelona talisman and we can confidently believe her words.
Elsewhere Manchester City are also monitoring the situation closely and willing to pay any amount that will see Messi agree to play for Manchester City if only Messi changes his mind and poised to leave Barcelona. Guardiola knows Messi very well and will be instrumental in convincing him to join the Manchester City.
