After losing to Brazil by 3 goals to nil, the Black Stars edged a narrow win against Nicaragua to mark the end of their preparations for the World Cup in Qatar later this year.
Even though the team showed glimpses of talent and the ability to force opponents into making mistakes, the team was very far from making a statement by finishing off chances and scoring goals.
The scoreline against Nicaragua shows that there is more work to be done if the Black Stars would want to qualify from the group stages of the World Cup tournament.
Coach Otto Addo also has to question his tactics and ideas about how the Black Stars should play. Over the two games played in the last few days, the start of the matches has always been poor. The team only manages to have control of the game after the half time break and this is not a sign of a good side.
Ghana’s opponent in the group, all recorded victories in their friendly games with the exception of Portugal who lost to an elite Spanish side in the UEFA Nations League.
