Accra Hearts of Oak are currently the league leaders of the ongoing Ghana Premier League competition.The phobians leapfrogged their arch-rivals Asante Kotoko last weekend in their massive win against Eleven Wonders. Kumasi Asante Kotoko on the other hand, failed to hold on to their position as league leaders after drawing parity with WAFA.
Hearts of Oak are leaders in terms of goal difference. The phobians have been at their best in the second round of the competition. Asante Kotoko have also been superb, going unbeaten in their last five matches. But they have recorded two draws which has given the phobians the opportunity to surpass them on top of the league log.
The last time this two great clubs battled each other and add more excitement to the league was in 2009, the league was eventually won by Accra Hearts of oak. It has been the very last time the phobians have won the league. They are poised to win the league this season and are resolute to achieve it.
Asante Kotoko on the other hand, have won the league a record of 24 times, as the most successful club since the commencement of the league in 1956. They are looking forward to add to their trophies this season but face a stiff competition from the other clubs. Hearts of Oak take on Berekum Chelsea as their next fixture in the Ghana Premier League whiles their arch-rivals Asante Kotoko take on Aduana Stars this weekend.
