Gbewaa FC will use the newly built sports complex at Yendi as their home venue next season

Gbewaa FC will use the newly built multipurpose sports complex at Yendi as home venue next season.

The Division One side has been using the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium at Tamale as home venue this season as they compete in the second tier league.

They had to take this decision in change of home venue to Tamale to allow the Ghana government construct the new sports facility at their home venue in Yendi.

The newly built sports facility at Yendi houses a FIFA standard football pitch, eight-lane athletics track, ICT/Entrepreneurship, Counseling Centres, tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, a modern restaurant, washrooms, maintenance unit and floodlights.

The use of Tamale as home venue, has derailed efforts by Gbewaa FC to make good their promise of at least making the top four in the Zone One League this season.

Chieftains at the club are hopeful that the move back to Yendi next season, will make them stronger as they will be playing in front of their home fans.

Gbewaa FC have been pushing hard to finish this season on a high after enduring a rather difficult start to the campaign than they expected.
