Asamoah Gyan, is undoubtedly one of the best African and Ghanaian Footballers in the history of football who currently plays for Legon Cities FC. The famous footballer birthed his career in 2003, while playing for the Liberty Professionals in the GPL(Ghana Premier League).
He increased to play in Serie A, an Italian league, for Udinese where did outstanding. He then went ahead to Ligue 1 to play for Rennes (who by the way beat PSG 1 - 0 just recently). From there, he moved to the top league, English Premier League, to play for Sunderland before playing for Al Ain in the UAE Pro League . All these are remarkable for a Ghanaian footballer, but those are not the real deal.
He is topmost Ghanaian goal scorer with 51 goals. Apart from the that, he is the highest African goal scorer in the World Cup, with 6 whooping goals. He has taken Ghana far in the World Cup on a few occasions. He has always strived to be the best.
Why then did he return to Ghana to play for Legon Cities FC? After a tour round the world, making his name in several leagues and making Ghana proud, he deserves to end his career back in his homeland. Though he was bought for more than 1 million dollars, he deserved to also shine nationally.
The real reason for his return home, is probably to enjoy home comfort, to be with family, and to expand his source of income.
