Relegation-threatened side Legon Cities look forward to deepening the woes of Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League this weekend. The Royals are putting the necessary measures in place, to see off coach Mariano Barreto and his players at the nation’s capital tomorrow.
Premier League giants Asante Kotoko lost to Medeama at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium last weekend. They had anticipated, prior to the game, an easy walkover, but coach Yaw Preko and Yaw Acheampong masterminded a strategy that placed Asante Kotoko in a sticky situation. Medeama went down but rallied behind to snatch all points to Tarkwa. They did not only win the game but also, outsmarted Asante Kotoko in every aspect of the game. The victory, catapulted Medeama to the zenith of the table, putting Asante Kotoko in second position.
With another opportunity to make amends, coach Mariano Barreto will count on his charges to better their performances, battle to the brim and redeem points lost. Hence, Fabio Gama, Augustine Okrah and Francis Andy Kumi are likely to enjoy a starting berth and steal the show upfront. These frontmen will be hunting for loopholes in opponent’s half, pounced on them if the need be and unleash a heroic strike.
Meanwhile, the position of home side Legon Cities, have put them on alert to prepare fervently for upcoming matches. Coach Bashir Hayford will equally task his players to go all out and keep the three points. The former Asante Kotoko gaffer is tipped to bring his experience to bear, as they gaze at an ultimate victory. Jonah Attuquaye, Hans Kwoffie and Victorien Adebayor will be troubling Kotoko’s men at the rear with speed and potent strike.
The game could go either way as both Legon Cities and Asante Kotoko cannot afford to settle for stalemate. The two teams will appear all fired up for the three points, but Legon Cities could keep all points, as a win for King Faisal and Eleven Wonders drags them to the relegation enclave.
