Goal scoring in the ongoing Ghana Premier League, (GPL) is on a high this season with the marksmen trying to make their presence felt at their respective teams.
With 11 matches played by each of the 18 teams in the 2020-21 competition, it is becoming clearer who will be in contention for the top scorer award at the end of the season.
Karela United lead the standing with 21 points, and, their player Diawisie Taylor also leads the scores chart in terms of numbers.
Taylor, has scored nine of the 18 goals that the Aiyinase-based club has scored, and, he will look to extend that number when they take on Legon Cities in midweek as the GPL Matchday 12 matches are cleared.
With eight goals on the scorers chart is Daniel Lomotey, but, the forward no longer plies his trade in the GPL as he has been shipped out by WAFA to Algerian side, ES Setif.
Kwame Peprah of King Faisal is next in line with seven goals although his side remains in the bottom three on the table. He bagged a hart-trick in their last game with Berekum Chelsea as they came from three goals down to win 4-3 at Techiman last Saturday.
Faisal will hope his goals can lift them up the table as the season wore on.
With six goals each after 11 matches are Kwame Opoku of Asante Kotoko and Yahaya Mohammed of Aduana Stars who will both seek to add to their tally in midweek.
On five goals are Kwame Boateng of Karela United, Maxwell Abbey Quaye of Great Olympics and Yaw Annor of AshantiGold SC.
Eight players have scored four goals each and, they will all be looking forward to adding to their tally in the next round of matches.
A lot more goals would be scored for sure as the season rolls on, and, it will only go to add up interest in the GPL as we await which team would win the diadem and who will win the top scorer award at end of the season.
