Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially kept in touch with AshantiGold SC advising them of their failure to contend in the 2021/22 CAF Inter Club rivalries – CAF Confederation Cup. The follows a late solicitation from AshgantiGold for an unprecedented application to empower them procure the necessary permit to take an interest in the 2021/22 CAF Confederation Cup.
The GFA had further correspondence with CAF regarding the matter and beneath are the central issues in their answer.
The cutoff time for GFA to present the club authorizing choices and archives of the clubs for the CAF IC 21/22 was 15 July 2021.
CAF educated the Federations that the 15 July 2021 cutoff time date was non-debatable and non-extendable using any and all means.
CAF educated the Federations that they ought to submit by 15 July 2021, all club authorizing choices and archives of all theclubs having a potential for success to meet all requirements to CAF Interclub contests dependent on wearing legitimacy, paying little mind to the situation with finishing of the homegrown class or public cup rivalry
Tragically, we lament to advise that now regarding time, forcibly of the CAF Circular no club permitting choice might be acknowledged, thus Ashantigold SC can not participate in the CAF IC 21/22 season.
Subsequently, Accra Hearts of Oak SC, Medeama SC and Asante Kotoko SC being the three clubs in the CAF rundown of LICENSED CLUBS are the solitary qualified clubs which can play in Africa in the 2021/22 season.
Presently, with Accra Hearts of Oak SC picking to play in the CAF Champions League as the victors of the Ghana Premier League, just Medeama SC or Asante Kotoko SC might play in the CAF Confederation Cup for Ghana and should the two clubs choose not to play in Africa, no club from Ghana would address us in the opposition.
By and by, the Association wishes to remind all clubs to be aware of the import of cutoff times and the severe consistence systems in present day football and the outcomes thereof, following the inability to hold fast to them.
