One would think that the Kotoko team needed no new coach at this point in time after the team have had a befitting cruise.
Hopes were banged on the technical expertise of Coach Johnson Smith and his able men in the league.
Before the coming of the Portuguese gaffer, Kumasi Asante Kotoko was lying 4th in the league table with an outstanding match which would have taken them to the summit of the league.
The first match played in the second round was led by the interim coach, but throughout the week, Mariano has been in the helm of affairs.
The club's first match in the second round ended in a draw.
But, Seer Gyan has something to say about the signing of the new coach.
"I don't want to be a prophet of doom, but this coach will bet 40 percent in his first three matches. And you have to know that Kotoko's best position will be fifth (5th).
"If the needed thing is not done, he will not have a good stint with Kum Apem." - Seer Gyan
