21- year old Ghanaian Addo matches Madrid boot-for-boot as Sheriff picks away victory

Ghana's midfielder Edmund Addo was on his best of form throughout the 90 minutes play for Sheriff Tiraspol as they stunned Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid after earlier dominance found themselves a goal down on the 25th minute after Jasurbek Yakhshiboev leaped the highest to head in a precise cross from Cristiano.

Real Madrid continued and pressed for the equalizer but they were denied by the solid defense of Sheriff shielded by the 21- year old Edmund Addo.

On the 65th minute, a strong challenge from Addo on Vinicius Junior fetched Madrid a penalty after VAR called for a review of the foul in the box. The skipper Karim Benzema stepped up and score for a parity.

The game was close to a drawn end but Sebastien Thill snatched a victory for Tiraspol with a stunning final-minute strike.

Here are the stats of Addo after the game:

• 90 minutes played

• 92.3% passing accuracy

• 25 touches

• 4 ground duels won

• 2/2 long balls completed

• 2 fouls won

• 2 tackles won

• 2 interceptions

• 1 clearance

The victory leaves minnows Sheriff Tiraspol top of the group D with 6 points after two games.

Another 21- year old midfielder Kamal Sowah lasted for 68 minutes for Club Brugge in their 2:1 away victory over RB Leipzig
