This is the first time Ghana has qualified to the World Cup since 2014 as they missed out in 2018.
The first leg played in Ghana last weekend resulted in a goalless draw at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
The second leg took off at Abuja earlier today where Ghana qualified on away goals after drawing with Nigeria 1:1.
The victory meant so much to the President of the Republic of Ghana as today also marks his 78th birthday.
President Akuffo Addo after the victory called the Interim coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo to personally congratulate him on making the nation proud. He also added that Ghana will not let him go back to Dortmund after his return to Ghana.
Meanwhile, the president recounts that the a qualification to the World Cup on his birthday is the best birthday present he has ever had in his life.
