The rescheduled clash between the 2 Ashanti regional giants Kotoko and Ashanti Gold will be coming off on the 2nd of June 2022. The matchday 29 game was postponed for security reasons. After the demotion of AshGold to division 2, the security service picked up intelligence that disgruntled AshGold fans are planning to cause mayhem causing the game to be postponed. This new date announcement was made by the Ghana Football Association earlier today.
"It must be noted, however, that should the security risk and the advice from the Security Services remain unchanged by the next home match of Ashantigold SC, the Association reserves the right to shift the home matches of Ashantigold SC to the club’s selected alternative match venue," the GFA wrote on their website. Kotoko will be aiming to assert its dominance over its regional rivals in the rescheduled clash. Kotoko is still leading the table and is 6 points ahead of the closest challenger Medeama SC who has played a game more.
