The black stars of Ghana were sensational at the 2010 world cup. They managed to reach the quarter finals which they faced Uruguay. All odds favored Ghana to qualify to the semifinals. If Ghana was able to score Uruguay in that game, they would have been the first African team to reach the semifinals. Ghana was able to get a chance to win the game but Luis Suares used his hand to remove the ball from the goalpost to deny Ghana the goal.
A penalty was awarded to Ghana whilst a red card was issued to Luis but Asamoah Gyan narrowly missed the penalty. Many people believe that the referee on the day should have just awarded a goal instead of giving Ghana a penalty. Share your thoughts in the comments section on this article.
