Alves set to join Mexican side Pumas after leaving Barcelona

Dani Alves, a former fullback for Barcelona, will join Pumas UNAM in Mexico to continue his playing career.

Alves returned to Barcelona last year and played 14 LaLiga games for Xavi's squad after signing up in January.

After stints with Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, and Sao Paulo in his native Brazil, the defender returned to Camp Nou and made 13 starts in Spain's top division while also scoring one goal.

Alves is currently returning to North America to join Pumas of Liga MX. On Thursday, Pumas teased the signing on their official Twitter account.

"Dani, we wait for you," read the caption of a video showing the team's mascot entering Pumas Stadium. This weekend, Alves is anticipated to fly into Mexico to complete his relocation.
