The Black Stars failed to reach the round sixteen of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after exiting at the group stage.
The Black Stars lost their opening game against Portugal by 3-2 much to shock of so many Ghanaians.

Their second game however produced an interesting result having beaten South Korea 3-2 to reignite hopes of qualifying for the round sixteen.
However the Black Stars lost their third and final group game against Uruguay by 2-0 much to the shock of the entire nation and in the process exiting the tournament with just three points from three games.
One of the players to have come under criticisms in captain of the side, Andre Ayew who wasted a penalty kick against Uruguay but Ajax midfielder, Mohammed Kudus has jumped to the defence of the Al Sadd forward.
‘’Andre is a great leader and a great captain. After the penalty miss, he was still in the game and stood up for the team like everyone did but the result went the other way so we learn from it and stay positive’’.
