It is the normal rule in all aspect of the leagues in Ghana. It is seen that, whether there's a postponement or not the match will still be played. In most cases, the situation is always worse with the kind of arrangement made by the GPLB. In times of more outstanding matches, it halt the development of the league. Ghana Premier League Board has postponed matchday 13 and 14 fixtures following a meeting this week, according to the body's vice chairman George Amoako. Aduana's participation in the Caf Confederation Cup has made the league champions missing majority of their local games in the first round of the season, since they coincided with their continental duties. "After our meeting this week, we think the league must be postponed to allow some of the outstanding games to be cleared," Amoako told Otec FM. The Premier League Board has announced dates for Medeama SC’s Match day 11 & 12 outstanding Ghana Premier League matches. On Wednesday June, 2016 Medeama SC will face Liberty Professionals in their Week 11 outstanding match at the Dansoman Carl Reindorf. The Week 12 outstanding match between Medeama SC and Techiman City FC will also be played on Sunday, June 5 at the Tarkwa T & A Park.
All two outstanding matches will kick off at 3:00pm. The Porcupine Warriors had an opportunity to climb to the summit of the table on matchday 10 when they hosted Aduana Stars. On that occasion, Kotoko lost and crumbled under pressure. Johnson Smith will be hoping his team has learnt from their mistakes. Facing Karela at their turf has been an arduous for opponents this season with Evans Adotey’s men yet to drop points at home. The reds have conceded just three goals on the road, picking up 10 points without defeat. Speaking at a virtual meeting with Chief Executive Officers and Club Administrators on Tuesday October 27, the General Secretary of the GFA, Prosper Harrison Addo, explained what Clubs are expected to do before, during and after matches in conformity with directives to ensure safety and security during this "Football Against COVID-19" season.
A copy of a comprehensive document on safety protocols was also sent to all Clubs to ensure strict adherence at all match venues. To ensure strict adherence to the safety protocols, the GFA would train Club Safety and Security Officers on the measures to take before, during and after games on each Matchday.
To bring the love back shouldn't be a mere slogan from the GFA. We expect to see more progress in the premier league to boost other stakeholders who are helping the league to move from one level to the International standard. Training sessions would also be organized for Referees, Match Commissioners, Medical Officers, Media Officers ahead of the commencement of the league on November 14. The interactive meeting also discussed issues regarding Regulations, sponsorships, training for Club Media Officers (CMOs), forbidden matches, investment and improvement in refereeing, and the proper use of the Competition Management System (CMS) for the league.
