The Cameroonian striker at Kotoko has given a justification for two missed penalties against Aduana.

Franck Mbella with 21 goals in the league has spelt out the cause of a two-penalty miss against Aduana Stars, the striker got the first goal against Aduana Stars on Mother’s Day at Baba Yara Sports Stadium but missed two penalties for his side to end Week 28 of the season in a stalemate 1-1 draw.

He had earlier missed a penalty at Nduom Sports Stadium when Kotoko lost against Elmina Sharks, but the two penalties missed against Aduana Stars at Baba Yara Sports Stadium jeopardized the team together with the fans at the stadium on the 8th of May, 2022.

Ahead of Sunday’s Coronation Day at Baba Yara Sports Stadium, the management team has launched a Media Tour in a quest to get the spectators in the stands at Baba Yara Sports Stadium, as per scheduled by Management, the leading goal scorer had an interview at the studios of Opemsuo Radio in Kumasi, Manhyia Palace.

The host of the Sports Talk Show at Opemsuo Radio, Kwabena Owusu Danquah (K.O.D) quizzed the Cameroonian striker, Mbella on what caused his two-penalty miss against Berekum Chelsea, and the former AS Fortuna striker gave the reason behind the two penalties missed against Aduana Stars.

If the two penalties were converted, Kotoko would have extended their lead since Bechem United drew with Accra Hearts of Oak in that week, and within that period the AFCON 2023 Qualifiers was on the verge to start so various countries had released their various squad list for the qualifiers.

The head coach of The Indomitable Lions, Rigobert Song Bahanag had released a list of players which Franck Mbella gained his first call-up into the squad, but he was discarded from the squad, the 20-year-old striker was initially included in Song’s 34-man squad but was dropped from the final squad in the double header against Kenya and Burundi.

At Opemsuo Radio, the red-hot Kotoko striker came out with the reason why he missed two penalties against Aduana Stars, as quoted by the foreigner, “I missed the last two penalties because I had lost focus following my omission from the Cameroon squad. And I wasn’t stable during that moment in the game against Aduana and Berekum Chelsea.”
