Last season’s top scorer of the Ghana Premier league, Yaw Annor has gained a call up into the Togo National team for the upcoming international friendly matches.
Yaw Annor earned a huge reputation in the Ghana premier league last season and was a subject of transfer for Egyptian side Ismaily SC at the end of the season. With AshantiGold SC relegated to the division 2 of the Ghana Premier League, the striker accepted the offer from the Egyptian side.
The player reportedly has roots in Togo, with his mother being a full Togolese, hence, the decision to switch nationality and play for Togo. The decision is also believed to be based on the limited chances of playing for the Black Stars even after his impressive season.
Togo will face Ivory Coast and Equatorial Guinea as their two friendly games for this international week break.
It is believed that he will emulate the steps of legend Emmauel Adebayor for the Togolese national team.
