I'm not regarded in Ghana yet I'm 'profoundly loved' somewhere else – Asamoah Gyan


The Legendary Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan accepts that he doesn't get the acknowledgment he merits from Ghanaians. Gyan feels that despite his accomplishment for the country, he is as yet not concurred with the regard that is because of him. 


Talking on Kumasi-based Kessben Fm, Gyan said that he was enjoyably astonished by the greeting by the Confederation of Africa Football to have him as one of the legends that graced the draw for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. 


Gyan says the honor done him further shows how he is respected on the mainland, an inclination he doesn't get from Ghanaians. 

"I have not resigned from football. There were a few wounds last season yet I am not done playing football. I can awaken one day and declare my retirement from football however right now, I am dynamic," the nation's unequaled top goalscorer told Kumasi-based Kessben FM. 

"Individuals will scrutinize me however I am just wanting to return to my ordinary structure and weight yet assuming I am not ready to recover my structure, I will cancel it yet right now, I am chipping away at myself to shed pounds," he said.

“I returned to Legon Cities and you could clearly see that things did not go as planned because I have putting on weight but I am giving myself another season and I trust I will be back to my form. And if I am on my form, I don’t think I will be overlooked. But for retirement, not now.”
