Central Regional Football Association Chairman Mr. Robert Otieku Duncan's Soccer Intellectuals have been crowned as the Champions of the Division two Middle League and have qualified for the 2021/2022 Ghana Division one league.
The team qualified after beaten Apam Ahenfo (2:1) in the finals on Sunday September 5 at the Cape Robert Mensah Stadium.
Soccer Intellectuals took the lead on the 6th minutes of the first stanza through a strike from Anthony Owusu.
The Ahenfo side came back strongly with intention of getting an equalizer but they were denied by the strong defense of Intellectuals.
Substitute, Stephen Yorke Addokoh pulled parity on the 67th minutes after his sole drive went past the stopper of Soccer Intellectuals.
Lack of contraction on the part of Ahemfo just two minutes after the equalizer helped Eric Essel Nyame to double the lead for his side.
Soccer Intellectuals had the opportunity to make it 3 but Anthony Owusu's spot kick struck the crossbar.
The encounter continued steadily till the Center Referee Jacob Assifuah blew his whistle to bring the curtains down.
Soccer Intellectuals qualified to the Semifinals after topping Group B with 7 points ahead of Police National, Futbolcu and Starke FC.
They beat Kingdom FC of Cape Coast by a goal to nill in the Semifinals before booking their ticket to the finals
