Breaking News: Ghana Sack Coach Milovan Rajevac After Poor AFCON Show

Viral reports have it that, Ghana has sacked head coach of the senior national men’s team, Milovan Rajevac.

The Serbian steered Ghana’s worse Africa Cup of Nations outing since 2006 in Cameroon this year. The Black Stars finished bottom of group c where they gathered just a point in three games at the 33rd Africa Cup of Nations currently ongoing. A recently held meeting between the Ghana Football Association and the Ministry of Youth and Sports concluded with the latter expressing displeasure at the performance of the technical team and the reconstitution of the Black Stars Management Committee.

Should the reports be anything to go by, the West African Nation must cough up $270,000 to part with Rajevac who has nine months outstanding on his existing contract. Ghana lost their opening game by 1-0 to Morocco before being held to a 1-1 draw by Gabon in the second game at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium.

The final group game broke hearts in Ghana when the Black Stars lost 3-2 to a less fancied and debutants, Comoros to exit with just a point. The four time AFCON winners must now shift attention to the final 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier in March with a slot making it a fourth appearance after 2006, 2010 and the 2014.
