It is always a joy to many Ghanaians to see one of our own playing for the elite clubs in the world. The joy is great that it even attracts fans from the country to support the club in question.
Several Ghanaians who played in top-flight teams has brought great respect for the country when it comes to the world of football.
Abdul Fatawu Issahaku completed an unexpected move to English football giants, Liverpool FC. The 17 year-old player's contract with the club will be due after 5 years period. Abdul Fatawu Issahaku's move comes after a deal to join German side Bayer Leverkusen was called off in the latter stages of the move. The young Ghanaian player before the move played for Ghana's Tamale-based club, Steadfast FC.
Due to the withdrawal of the Leverkusen move, we thought all was lost. Hardly did we know that something bigger was about to take place.
He helped the Black Satellites to its 4th AFCON title in the 2021 Under-20 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Mauritania. Issahaku was awarded the best player of the 2021 Under-20 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Mauritania and was named in CAF's Team of the Tournament.
It is expected that the Ghanaian would be joining another team reportedly, Portugese side Sporting Lisbon on loan.
Congratulations to the young champ on his move to one of the biggest clubs in England and the world.
