De Bruyne Demoted as Vice Captain as Team mate takes up new role at the Etihad

Manchester City have had a good run at the beginning of this season. They are currently in fine form and in on Wednesday won their game against RB Leipzig in a 9 goal thriller where they won six goals to three. They are in cruise control as they look forward to repeat their exploits of last season by reaching the uefa champions league final.

Ilkay Gundogan has now been promoted to the position of Vice Captain following a vote by Pep Guardiola's players and backroom staff this week, demoting Kevin de Bruyne. This seems to have been a collective decision by the team to vote for Gundogan as the vice captain of the team.

Fans have however reacted in various ways. Some section of fans are actually of the notion that, this is due to the injury situations of the Kevin. Others also see it to be a shift in of focus in the reason that Gundogan is more outspoken and matured than Kevin.
