Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has stated that Cristiano Ronaldo will be reintegrated into the team upon his return. Ronaldo has not participated in any of United's preseason workouts thus far because of family obligations. He instead stayed in Europe while his team competed in matches in Thailand and Australia.
The striker's desire to play in the Champions League this summer was revealed in early July, but no suitors have made a bid for the 37-year-old. Next week, the team from Old Trafford plays Atletico Madrid in Oslo before facing Rayo Vallecano at home. While it is still unknown if Ronaldo will attend, Ten Hag stated that his absence did not worry him and that he was looking forward to his comeback.
When asked for an update on the five-time Ballon d'Or champion, Ten Hag responded, "Concerning is perhaps not the appropriate word. "I concentrate on the players who are present and doing excellent work. They are in good condition, and I need to continue to develop that. I can not wait until (Ronaldo) arrives so we can integrate him.
The club will play matches on three continents during a lengthy preseason tour, and Ten Hag was stoic in his evaluation of the excursion's positive effects on team spirit. "I think it is part of football now, and as a manager, as a team, you have to accept it and make the best of it, and that is what we did," Ten Hag continued.
"We have been working together for a very long time, and this is excellent for our team spirit. Due to your proximity to one another, you have plenty of time to work as a team. It is wonderful to have the opportunity to see lovely cities like Bangkok, Melbourne, and Perth because we do not usually come here.
Obviously, there are drawbacks as well, but as a professional, you must cope with decisions that are made that you have no control over. However, since that is our main concern, you do have some influence over your game."
