Good news as Chelsea's top target admits his desire to play for Lampard.

Chelsea have been very busy this transfer window following a transfer ban last summer. The blues are desperate to sign new defenders after the current crop performed dismally last season conceding 54 goals in the process.

Lampard has made the backline consolidation a major priority after procuring Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech to augment the attack. A number of defenders have been linked with a move to the club. Declan Rice seemed to be the top target but the deal hangs in a limbo after Westham demanded an astronomical amount for the 21 year old.

However, the blues are considering other alternatives with Brighton's Lewis Dunk and Athletico's José Giménez coming into the picture.

Latest news suggest, José Giménez has admitted he would like to play for Chelsea. In his latest interview, he made it clear that, he grew up watching Lampard play for Chelsea and would have love to play with him. He continued that, he used to watch Chelsea as a kid and loves the club.

The blues have already scouted the 25 year old Uruguayan and his admission makes a potential switch to London possible. His admission seems to be a come and get me plea and Chelsea will be weighing their options in the coming days to take a decision.

Elswhere, Chelsea is still in negotiations to finalise the deal for Kai Havertz. Reports also suggest Ben Chilwell could also join the club soon.
