Former Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo says he needed to respect the contract between him and club, Borussia Dortmund.
The ex-Ghana forward has an existing contract with the German club but was convinced by the Ghana FA to take up the temporary national team job.
He qualified the four time AFCON winners for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup after going past sworn rivals, Nigeria over two legs.

Ghana however earned only three points in group H behind Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay - exiting the tournament in the process.
Otto Addo talks about his contract with Dortmund as a talent coach.
“Before I started to work for the GFA, everybody knew and I said it before that I have a contract with Dortmund and I have to respect that.
“Even to come here, it was difficult and the GFA put in a lot of effort to release me and at the end they came back themselves to Dortmund to speak to the board.
“And at the end they decided to release me for this task.” Otto Addo said.
