Sevilla had been interested in signing Ghana Black Stars defender Alexander Djiku following his impressive performance for the French side, Strasbourg. The defender seems more interested in staying in France than moving to Sevilla as Stade Rennais has also joined the race to gain his signature. Source
The club seems interested in this tug of war and will most likely release him to the highest bidder. Sevilla has been in talks with Strasbourg and has quoted 6 million euros whereas the French side wants 10 million euros for their prized defender. Villareal is also likely to join the hunt as their tender Pau Torres has seen lots of interest from England. Strasbourg President Marc Keller has confirmed that the defender will be allowed to leave when the right offer comes from either side.
Alexander Djiku has made 30 appearances for his club this season having scored once for the team.
