Majeed Waris is a product of Right to Dream Academy. He joined the academy at a tender age of twelve. He got the opportunity and moved to England where he joined the Hartpury college giving him another opportunity to join Nike Academy. There, he featured in the reserves team at Forest Green Rovers. Waris later signed a four year deal in 2019 for Swedish side, BK Hacken. He was handed his debut in March 2010 as a substitute in a game that they won 4:2 against Telleborgs FF. He netted his first hat trick scoring five goals in May 2012. The Ghanaian international in effect became the first player in the Sweden Allsvenskan to score five goals in a single match in the 21st century. He became the top scorer with 12 goals in that season in only nine matches. Waris was named the Swedish premier league's player of the year. His performance earned him transfer speculations and was linked to a number of top European clubs including Arsenal.
In 2012 he signed for Spartak Moscow. His debut for the club came on March 10, 2013 coming in as a substitute in a 3:1 win over FC Terek Grozyn. He did not get more first team football because of the dominance of Nigerian striker Emmanuel Emenike, Ariclenes da Silva Ferreira and the rest. Waris later joined the Ligue 1 side Valenciennes on a loan deal until 30 June in 2014. He scored 5 goals in 4 consecutive games and was once named Goal.com player of the week. He showed the the desire to play for the team even though they were relegated. His move was then made permanent. The Ghanaian striker again joined the Turkish side Trabzonspor for a fee of 5.5 million pounds on a four year contract. He scored his first goal for the club in a Europa league match against Lokeren which ended in a 1:1 draw. His move to French Ligue 1 side Lorient was announced on August 6, 2015 for a fee of 5 million pounds. This move caused controversy as he was initially to sign for Lorient's rivals Rennes but was driven to Lorient upon his arrival.
Majeed Waris later on joined FC Porto in 2018 on a six month deal loan and currently has signed for FC Strasbourg but has gone back to Porto on loan again and plays for the Porto team B.
