"We are not optimistic about him coming back to complete season" - Arteta speaks on Partey's injury

"The news we got after having another assessment, they are not great; it is not looking positive, his availability for the rest of the season, we will have to wait and see, he's trying to get back quickly but at the moment, we are not optimistic about it", Arsenal Coach Mikel Arteta speaking about Partey's injury.

Deputy captain of the Black Stars and midfielder of England Giants Arsenal FC, Thomas Tei Partey has sustained an injury to his right thigh in Arsenal's defeat against London rivals Crystal Palace. The game which ended in a 3-0 loss for Arsenal had Jean-Phillipe Matata, Jordan Ayew and Wilfried Zaha putting the ball in the net of Mikel Arteta's side.

Before the game which resulted in the injury of the 28-year-old Ghanaian national was Arsenal's best player leading the charge for his side to secure a slot in next season's UEFA Champions League. The team has 54 points and occupies the 5th position of the English Premier league.

According to a statement on the clubs website, the former Athletico Madrid star sustained a muscle damage on his right thigh following a series of scars and injuries and coul miss the rest of the season.

The midfielder is missing in action in the clubs Premier league game against Southampton this weekend.
