The Management of Asante Kotoko football club through its acting communication manager, David Obeng Nyarko has issued a statement with respect to the happenings between their former coach Maxwell Konadu and Asante Kotoko.
According to the statement, it said: "Our attention has been drawn to various media publications concerning the termination of the employment contract with Maxwell Konadu and matters arising".
"We wish to state as follows",
1. Maxwell Konadu's employment contract was terminated by the club in a letter in a dated December 17,2020 invoking Article 11(2) of his employment contract with the club, which states inter alia "If the club terminates this Agreement for any reason, other than those stated in 11.4 and 11.5 below and before the expiry of the term hereby granted or any extension thereof, the club shall pay three months' gross salaries to the Head coach in lieu of notice".
2. In response to our letter to Maxwell Konadu on February 9, 2021 he made the following demand:
