Countryman Songo has thrown more fire to the Sports Minister, Isaac Kwame Asiamah Benkae for not paying Black Stars Coach C. K Akonnor for 8 good months. He says that is really unfair of the Sports Minister and he is not surprised about the performance of the coach knowing this is the situation.
He says he backs the coach 100% of he is not able to deliver to our satisfaction. The Sports Minister has disappointed coach C. K Akonnor and Ghanaians as a whole. He says fire should burn the Sports Minister wherever he is for treating C. K Akonnor like this, refusing to pay him his salaries for eight months.
Songo says a coach can never give his all knowing this is what will happen at the end. The fact that he has a family makes it worse, he can't be thinking about his family and his unpaid salaries whilst he coaches and expect him to give you a hopeful result. Countryman Songo said;
"Fire burn you Sports Minister wherever you are for refusing to pay coach C. K Akonnor for 8 months, how do you expect him to perform if you keep on doing this to him". He said this on Fire for Fire a TV show on Adom TV.
Some viewers called to express their views that not being paid is not an excuse for him to underperform. They believe that he can simply quit the job if he feels he is not being treated fairly but so far as he remains the coach of the Black Stars, he needs to deliver as expected with no excuses.
