The former captain of the Black Stars of Ghana, Asamoah Gyan has been in the news for a couple of days now after he made a 'controversial' statement about the upcoming world cup which would be played in Qatar. He has received back and forth from the media after the statement was aired to the people of Ghana. But the full video has surfaced online showing the full interview section.

From the video, he made his intention known to the public when asked whether he would play a competitive match for the country. He made it clear that he would be willing to play in the Ghanaian league for Asante Kotoko and when he gets the required form, he would join the team for the world cup. He stated that he has gained weight and may not be fit for the squad for the world cup. Asamoah made it clear that he needs time to train more if he wants to join the team in the world cup
