Sad: Black Stars Goalkeeper Admits He Will Not Be Part Of Final Squad For 2022 Qatar World Cup

Fatawu Dauda has served Black Stars as goalkeeper for the past years. The former AshantiGold goalkeeper has admitted that he cannot make it to this year’s FIFA World Cup as a goalkeeper, with reason being that he is recuperating from an injury. He however added that, he could be part of Ghana’s contingent for the global football competition as a Technical staff.

“I'm now recovering from injury so it will be difficult to go for 2022 world cup to play but can go on technical assignments.” Fatawu Dauda told Hot corner sports on Hot TV.

As a goalkeeper, Fatawu Dauda had some incredible years for Black Stars, participating in a lot of tournaments. He was expected to be active by now and put up a challenge with the current crop of goalkeepers but for injury, he had to stay away from the Senior National team.

Currently, Black Stars goalkeeping role is bossed by Joseph Wollacott, coming as the first choice goalkeeper in this year’s Nations Cup in Cameroon.

He was in post when Black Stars drew goalless and 1:1 with the Super Green Eagles of Nigeria to book a World Cup ticket. Joseph Wollacott is tipped to man the post for Ghana in Qatar.
