Check out Legon Cities four GPL matches this month which could define their season

Ghana Premier League, GPL, outfit Legon Cities have four key matches to play in the month of March which could define their status as a top-flight side at the end of the season.

The Royals are placed 11th on the GPL log with 22 points after 18 matches, 10 points above the relegation zone and 18 behind the leaders Asante Kotoko.

Since changing their name from Wa All Stars to Legon Cities at the start of last season, the former GPL champions have struggled to stay up with the challenge in the Ghanaian top-flight, missing relegation by a whisker in the last campaign.

Their upcoming fixtures this month could be key to their chances of survival as they seek to preserve their GPL status for another season at least.

That quest starts at Tamale this Saturday when they play as guests to Real Tamale United at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.

They will need to produce a good performance if they hope to get something out of this fixture against the Pride of the North.

After the RTU game this weekend, Legon Cities will next play Great Olympics in a capital derby at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Great Olympics are on form at the moment and, Legon Cities will have to be at their very best if they hope to get a result from this game next weekend.

On March 19, Legon Cities will come up against WAFA and, they will fancy their chances of getting the three points against the relegation strugglers at the El-Wak Sports Stadium.

Legon Cities last game in this month will be against Aduana FC on March 30 at Dormaa Ahenkro in what looks on paper a difficult away game.

Aduana FC are aiming for the title this season, and, will not be easy pushovers for Legon Cities on home soil.

These upcoming fixtures could be crucial to the chances of Legon Cities holding their own in the GPL this season as they hope to make meaning of their huge financial backing.
