The skipper of theThe Black Stars of Ghana, Dede Ayew has lost his godson while on duty for the Black Stars at the ongoing World Cup in Qatar
On Friday, December 2, 2022, Ghana played against Uruguay in 'a revenge' match to seek a place in the Round-16 stage. The Black Stars were awarded a penalty during in the match in the additional minutes of the first half after the Uruguayan goal Rochet brought down Mohammed Kudus in the penalty box.
Dede Ayew stepped up to play the penalty but played 'a feeble shot' into the gloves of the goalkeeper. This left Ghanaians very disappointed and horrified especially as Ghana went on to lose the match by 2 goals to nil and got eliminated.
Dede Ayew's daughter collapsed after her father missed the penalty and was rushed to the hospital. The captain rushed to the hospital to check on her and she came out fine. 
However, the captain came out to say that he lost his godson before the Portugal match.
