Ghana Premier League, GPL champions Asante Kotoko has announced their first signing of the transfer window following some concerns about their lack of activity on the market.
The Porcupines have taken to their media channels in announcing the capture of goalkeeper Frederick Asare on a free transfer.
The former Accra Lions goalkeeper, has signed a three-year contract with the record Ghana champions ahead of the commencement of next season.
Asare, is a member of Ghana's local national team, the Black Galaxies and, he is expected to add value to the Kotoko setup as they prepare for what will be a very long and demanding campaign.
Asante Kotoko are short on numbers in the goalkeeping department following the departure of Razak Abalora to Moldovan side FC Sheriff Tiraspol and with the contract situation of Kwame Baah not certain at the moment.
The Porcupines have on their rooster Danlad Ibrahim, but, the national goalkeeper has few months of his current deal left.
Asare, will add competition to the club's goalkeeping department having represented Ghana at U-17 and U-20 level and now with the local national team.
Asante Kotoko will begin their pre-season program this week in Kumasi with a planned training tour of Turkey also on the line.
