Accra Hearts of Oak have strengthened their defensive set up ahead of next season’s domestic league and the CAF Champions league.

The Phobians are bent on making an impact in the continental front after failing to glitter in last season’s edition where they shipped in 10 goals in two games and scoring four.
Hearts of Oak defeated Wydad Athletic Club 1-0 in their final first leg playoff before losing 6-1 in the second leg in Casablanca to exit the competition.
Accra Hearts of Oak automatically claimed the Ghana Super Cup as a result of winning the domestic double over their arch rivals, Asante Kotoko.
According to the club, the addition of central defender, Zakari Yakubu will help augment the squad ahead of next season.

“Our latest defender is from All Blacks and to him, it’s a dream come true.
“He signed a 4-year deal with the phobia family after passing his medicals. He is Zakari Yakubu.” The club reported on the Facebook page.
