The Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Mustapha Ussif through the ministry has summoned the leadership of Ghana Football Association (GFA) to an emergency meeting.
According to the ministry (Ministry of Youth and Sports), the entire country is extremely disappointed by the abysmal performance and early exit of the Black Stars from the ongoing AFCON in Cameroon as the ministry shares in the nation's sentiment.
The ministry says it is disappointed with the senior national team's performance after all the necessary support were provided to the team in preparation towards the AFCON by the government.
Ministry of Youth and Sports says it has summoned the leadership of GFA to an emergency meeting scheduled for Friday, January 19, 2022 to "urgently discuss and take decisions aimed at salvaging the performance of the Black Stars especially in the next set of games".
It also says it is committed to taking urgent steps to ensure that the Black Stars is "restored to it's status as a symbol of national pride for all Ghanaians and a powerhouse of African football".
