Breaking: Accra Hearts of Oak Set to Sack Samuel Boadu?

Reports in the media indicate that, Hearts of Oak are set to part ways with head coach, Samuel Boadu.

The young trainer has incurred the wrath of the club’s following after strings of unimpressive performances by the club lately. Hearts of Oak have been a pale shadow of themselves this season having annexed the treble last season. The Phobians claimed the league title last season with 61 points plus beating AshantiGold to the MTN FA Cup trophy.

They however experienced a horrible continental campaign where they failed to go past the second qualifying stage of both the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup. The 21 time Ghana champions conceded a 6-2 aggregate score line over two legs against Morocco giants, Wydad Athletic Club in the second playoffs in the CAF Champions League. They got kicked out of the CAF Confederation Cup after suffering a 4-0 loss to Algeria club, Jeunesse Sportive de Saoura when the first leg ended 2-0 in their favour.

The Phobians’ domestic outing has been short of impressive having suffered defeat to Great Olympics in the week 16 encounter in the Mantse Derby on Sunday. Hearts of Oak have won six games this season, drawing five and posting four defeats in the process. They now have 23 points and have dropped into seventh position on the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League standings.
