Ghana champions Asante Kotoko defeated lower tier side Techiman Liberty FC 5-1 on Wednesday morning as they continued with their preparations for the resumption of the betPawa Premier League.
The Porcupines, have now scored 12 goals in three separate friendly matches since the season was put on hold following the court action taken by AshantiGold SC against the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
There were five different scorers for the Porcupines in this morning's encounter with Ugandan international striker Steven Dese Mukwala on target again in as many matches.
Asante Kotoko's other goals in this encounter were scored by Ivorian midfielder Serge Eric Zeze, Isaac Oppong, Rocky Dwamena and Patrick Asmah.
Coach Seydou Zerbo is building confidence in his squad ahead of the rest of the campaign as they look to defend the league title they won last season.
Asante Kotoko, has also vowed to mount an assault on the FA Cup competition as well after their disappointing performance in the CAF Champions League competition earlier this season.
Competition for places in the Kotoko squad is expected to be keenly contested with some key players returning to full fitness after spells on the injury front.
Midfielders Richmond Lamptey and Justice Blay, have returned to training with the team after their injury situations improved.
The club will look to continue with their preparations as they await the outcome of the court action between the GFA and AshantiGold SC on the schedule of the league.
