Gladson Awako has started training with Accra Hearts of Oak following an intervention by Nii Martey Laryea. The former Berekum Chelsea midfielder is expected to continue training with his club after rendering apology to club members. Gladson Awako took part in the training schedule of Aroras today.
In a viral video this afternoon, Gladson Awako in a blue outfit jogging with his colleagues. He was spotted in jersey number 7 with two other colleagues. They took it at a slow pace as they were going round the pitch. The video also captured other Aroras players who were engaged in ball control and distribution. Many balls had been shared among them to undertake the exercise.
Gladson Awako is yet to play in a competitive game for Accra Hearts of Oak after joining from city rivals Accra Great Olympics.
Following a successful completion of his transfer, many issues have been attributed to his inability to train and play fully for Accra Hearts of Oak.
Discussions between Accra Hearts of Oak and Accra Great Olympics had been before the transfer deal was signed and sealed. Both parties have had to iron out issues regarding how much to pay.
As days go by, the large following of Accra Hearts of Oak expected the midfielder to be in action but to no avail.
It was their desire to see him feature against Wydad Athletic Casablanca as his experience will have been vital for his teammates, but the rainbow club had to go for the two legs without Gladson Awako.
The domestic season also started with Awako missing in action. Accra Hearts of Oak have gone four matches winless with Awako still enjoying his holidays.
Later, Accra Great Olympics made it known that Gladson Awako’s move to their rivals was incomplete due to the latter’s failure to meet the remaining financial obligations between the two parties.
Nii Martey Laryea engaged Gladson Awako to figure out what could be done for his to resume training and honor his binding contract with the defending champions. The aftermath of that meeting ensued with the information of Gladson Awako commencing training today.
Currently, the senior side of Accra Hearts of Oak is in camp to prepare for the impending CAF Confederation Cup game against JS Soura. The team moved to Cape Coast after their defeat to Ashanti Gold in the Ghana Premier League.
This means, the former TP Mazembe midfielder has to train with the youth side Aroras until the senior side comes back to the capital city.
