UEFA Champions League

UEFA: Aaron available for selection on Wednesday.

Manchester United's appeal to UEFA over Aaron Wan-Bissaka's two-match European suspension has been successful.

The right-back was shown a red card during the first half of the 2-1 defeat to Young Boys in United's opening Champions League match in September.

The suspension was set at two games due to rough tackle, after Aaron brought defender Christopher Martins Pereira down during the Group F clash.

A UEFA statement reads:

"The appeal lodged by Manchester United has been upheld. Consequently, the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body’s decision of 23 September 2021 is amended as follows:

"'To suspend Manchester United player, Mr. Aaron Wan‐Bissaka, for the next one (1) UEFA club competition match for which he would be otherwise eligible, for rough play.'"

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has already missed the 2-1 victory over Villarreal at Old Trafford, it means he will now be available for selection in Wednesday's home game with Serie A side Atalanta.
