According to transfer news from Express, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel would prefer two other strikers over Erling Halaand. The club's manager would like to sign Kylian Mbappe or Lukaku ahead or Haaland.
This means Chelsea would have to use a huge amount of money to sign him since the worthiest club, Real Madrid are also competing for him.
Erling Halaand also have a release clause that gets activated in the summer of 2022. This will cause him to have greater value. This made Tuchel think that if Halaand would have a big market price same as Mbaape, then why don't he sign Mbaape over Halaand. This is because Mbaape is more potential than Halaand. But the issue is most club are interested in him at the moment.
The clubs plans of buying new strikers is as a result of Timo Werner's struggling to find goals. And also Tammy Abraham is not getting much playing time and Giroud is on the wrong side of 30.
Chelsea are hence looking for a striker and Haaland is someone they want. However, manager Thomas Tuchel would actually prefer to sign either Lukaku or Mbappe instead.
