As the 2021/2022 season has began, with about 7 matches already been played, there are five strikers who have been dominant since previous seasons and are still giving opponents nightmares in this current season. Let's check out who they are and why they are so dangerous.
5. Jamie Vardy
The 2019-2020 Premier League Golden Boot winner seems to be chasing the fear this season after missing out on it in the 2020/2021 season. The Leicester City striker has been an integral part of the club since the 2015-2016 season. He was the main man for the club in their historic Premier League title triumph in the 2015-2016 season. A season he scored 24 goals in 36 matches for the club. Since then, he has been scoring year in year out for Leicester City. He currently has 6 goals and 1 assist in 7 matches for the club and he doesn't look like slowing down anytime soon.
The French international has been prolific for Real Madrid, especially after the transfer of Real Madri's main goal scorer, Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus in 2018. He has consistently been the saviour of Real Madrid and was crucial for Madrid when they won the La Liga in the 2019-2020 season. He has scored 65 goals in 107 games for Madrid from 2018 to 2020. He currently has 9 goals and 7 assists in 8 matches for Real Madrid and is the last player La Liga teams want to face now.
3. Erling Haaland
"The Terminator" as many refer to him, Erling Haaland has proven to be a goal machine for the past few years. The 21 year old Borussia Dortmund striker has been and is still the headache of most defenders due to his pace, athleticism and exceptional finishing ability. Last season, the yougster scored 41 goals in 41 games in all competitions for the club. His excellent form last season has been carried on to this season, scoring 11 goals and assisting 3 in 7 games in all competitions for Borussia Dortmund. With this incredible form, many believe he stands a very good chance of ending the season as Europe's top goal scorer.
2. Mohammed Salah
The two time EPL Golden Boot winner seems to be seeking for his third Golden Boot this season. The Liverpool winger is well known for his dribbling, speed and great finishing. Mohammed Salah played a vital role alongside Sadio Mane in the ending of Liverpool's 30 years EPL title drought and a triumphant Champions League title all in 2019. The winger recently became the second African player to have scored 100 goals in the EPL, only after Didier Drogba.
The Egyptian currently has 9 goals and 3 assists in 9 games for Liverpool in all competitions and is currently EPL's leading goal scorer.
1. Robert Lewandoski.
I don't think anyone deserves the number one spot more than the Bayern Munich striker. Lewandoski has been scoring week in week out for the past few years. Lewandoski scored a record 41 goals in 29 games in the Bundesliga last season, breaking the late Gerd Muller's 49 year old record for the most goals scored by a player in a single Bundesliga season (40). He recently joined an elite group of players who have scored 500+ career goals, a feat that only Ronaldo, Messi, Ibrahimovic and Suarez have accomplished. The 2019/2020 Bundesliga top goal scorer currently has 13 goals and 1 assist in 13 games in all competitions for Bayern Munich and is seeking to retain his title as the "king of goals" in the Bundesliga.
Hope you enjoyed your encounter with the top five unstoppable strikers in Europe. Please don't forget to like and follow my handle for more interesting updates.
