Ismaily SC of the Egyptian Premier League signs the Ghana Football Awards' Best Homebased Footballer

Yaw Annor, the league's leading scorer in 2021–2022, will play in the Egyptian league the following year. He was also named Best Homebased Footballer at the Ghana Football Awards.

The Egyptian club's agreement with AshantiGold SC to hire the talisman was justified by Yaw Annor's successful Ghana Premier League campaign.

Since Annor signed a two-year contract with the Egyptian team Ismaily from AshantiGold, the editors of can report that AshantiGold SC will get about US$200,000 from the sale of Annor to Ismaily.

The 24-year-old tied Hearts of Oak legend Ishmael Addo for the most goals ever scored in a single season with 22 goals, including a brace against Bibiani Gold Stars on the final day. He defeated Mbella Etouga of Kotoko for the title of goal king.

The two biggest names to leave the Ghana Premier League are Augustine Okrah, a famous player for Bechem United, and Annor. Okrah has also agreed to join Tanzanian powerhouses Simba SC.

For the second time in his career, Annor will go outside of Ghana. The former Bechem United star has already represented Spain's CF Fuenlabrada and Burgos CF after leading Bechem to its first-ever victory in 2015.

After Kofi Owusu played for Aswan SC, Hans Kwoffie of Legon Cities was with Smouha, and Diawisie Taylor was signed by Future FC as the final player to play in the Egyptian league. Annor is the newest player to enter the Egyptian league.

Yaw Annor's agreement with an Egyptian team indicates that he is the fourth Ghana Premier League goal-scoring champion in Egypt.
