Ghana is blessed to have lots of talented, versatile and hardworking individuals who have put all hands on deck to achieve their ultimate goals.

Aside their countless achievements, they’ve been able to gain lots of recognition, fame and just to mention but a few due to their personalities, charisma and just to mention but a few.

With respect to this, one of the most famous athlete who made lots of fame for herself due to her skills on the track was Alice Annum who was also popularly known as the “Baby Jet”.

Alice Annum is a retired Ghanaian sprinter. Her personal best time in the 200 meters was 22.89 seconds which she achieved at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich.

Due to her performances, Alice Annum won gold at the All Africa Games in long jump in 1965 and in the 100m and 200m in 1973.

Alice Annum was a silver medalist in the 1970 British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh in the 100m and 200m. In 1974, she later won the bronze medal for 200m at the British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Alice Annum went on to win both the 6th and 7th place in the 100m and 200m respectively, at the 1973 Munich Olympic Games.

The fastest Ghanaian female athlete, Alice Annum was also honored in 2010 for her immense achievements in sports by the Action Progressive Institute of Ghana.
