Athletic club forward iñaki Williams has explain the gruesome experience his parents had to go through in their quest to seek greener pastures and they crossed the desert to Spain bare footed, thirsty and traveling several miles before they could get to Europe.
He explains how his mom narrated their life story to him after several years of him persuading her to find out about his ancestral roots and how they had to survive on the harsh desert without food and water for days.
He also explained how his parents were arrested after they jumped the fence of the Melilla border into Spain and how an unknown lawyer helped them acquire citizenship. Williams is grateful for the efforts of his parents who are the reason he is at this stage in his footballing career.
He has played a whopping 203 matches without rest becoming the most capped player in the Spanish football’s leagues history due to his strong physicality and strength from Ghanaian origin.
he however turned down an offer to feature for the Ghana national team the black stars reasons that he feels more of a Spanish since he was born there but has since failed to get a Gallup to the Spanish national team and hopes things get better in the near future.
