Messi leaves for Manchester City after spending two decades with Barcelona?

We can confirm that the FIFA player of the year Lionel Messi has left Barcelona Football Club. This was contained in an official statement published by the club on its website intercepted by CitizenOne this afternoon.

"Despite having reached an agreement with Messi and with both parties clearly wanting to sign a new contract, it cannot be finalized due to financial and structural problems. Given this situation, Messi will not continue his relationship with Barcelona. Both parties lament deeply that the desires of the player and the club cannot be met. Barca would like to wholeheartedly thank the player for his contribution to the growth of the institution and wish him the best in his personal and professional life", parts of the statement read.

According to reports from some media outlets, Messi is likely to join either Manchester City or Paris Saint-Germain. However the reports say Manchester City had a brighter chance of signing the 34 year old Argentine footballer.
