After President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated that "On Monday, 7th June 2021, Ghanaian-born Chelsea footballer, Callum Hudson-Odoi, paid a courtesy call on me at Jubilee House, the seat of our nation's presidency.
Amongst others, I urged the Minister for Youth and Sports to explore the possibility of having Callum switch nationality, and play for the Black Stars", Ghanaians have reacted massively to his social media post.
A lot of Ghanaians are happy to see President Nana Akufo-Addo meet the Chelsea football star but they don't want him to play for Ghana black stars when the President has called for and explained that, because of some past experiences with some Ghanaian players which they have seen before, they will advise him to choose another country.
"Your idea is good, Mr. President. However, the Ghana national teams, especially, black stars easily destroy young talented players. We love to see black star winning and going higher, But please allow this guy to choose a country on his own" someone said.
"Nana me f3ri wo paaa but this one di3 I have to say, you see the way you are happy to see a Ghanaian playing Chelsea, there are a lot of guys out there better than him but no support, help the youth and we will bring a lot of smile to your face" another person advised Nana Akufo-Addo.
"We always like to pay homage to our leaders but they are killing many talents and skills in Ghana here.
See how proud and happy Nana Addo looks with that big smile 😊 if we help our youth build their talent and skills you’ll be more proud some day for the good work done for the youth of Ghana", another told Ghanaian leaders especially those who are managing football players in the country.
"This Boy will make the biggest mistake of his life if he decides to play for Ghana.
Go and ask Quincy Owusu Abayie and the Family of Junior Agogo.
Ghanaians don't value talent. If we did, Asamoah Gyan should be Celebrated by now. Careful Callum", someone warned Hudson Odoi.
A lot of Ghanaians who commented under President Nana Akufo-Addo's post doesn't want Hudson Odoi to play for black stars but they are happy to see him meets President Nana Akufo-Addo in the Jubilee house.
