Asante Kotoko players must be in the best position to play their hearts out for the club following the decision by club owner to release a hefty amount to settle players’ outstanding fees. The timing for payment can only be described as appropriate.
Following a meeting that was held between the owner of Asante Kotoko and the players, the latter has a glorious moment to share their reservations with the owner. They were assured by the owner of an immediate response. Few days afterwards, news went viral about the arrival of a lump sum of money for the players.
The money has come at a time that the team is working assiduously to maintain the league’s top spot.
Having settled the players, they will be expected to give our their all in staying at the summit of the table.
There will be massive disappointment if subsequent results do not outweighs previous ones.
Performances displayed in second round matches are satisfactory, but this latest settlement should alert the players how important their delivery will be to the team’s owner and the entire supporters.
The number of matches left to be played are demanding, and will require full commitment and focus from the playing body.
In the midst of outstanding fees, players did what they are capable, and after this payment, there cannot be room for an average performance.
Their wish is met, and they owe it a duty to give out a five star performance to commiserate that.
Asante Kotoko players will come under scrutiny in the next league game, and by that, coach Mariano Barreto should intensify efforts in getting the best out of his players.
